Mr. Suhair Al Khatib is KCI’s Transit senior associate and has over 35 years of transportation planning, engineering and construction experience. He worked for over 30 years for the Maryland of Transportation including 22 years at the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) rising to the position of Deputy Administrator and Chief Planning, Programming and Engineering Officer. He led several MTA transit and rail modes including offices of planning, environmental, engineering, construction, capital budget, real estate, TOD, freight short lines, IT, MARC Commuter train and commuter bus operations. He led several high profile projects including BaltimoreLink bus overhaul, replace Metro subway cars and replace current signal system with communication based train control (CBTC) system, overhaul light rail cars and Metro rail emergency rail repair. He currently serves as an alternate commissioner representing the State of Maryland on the Washington Metro Rail Commission and is also a board member of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum, a Smithsonian affiliated museum.
